Class or no class?

As some of you know, I signed up to take a class at the local community college. A writing class, to be specific, that focuses on character development and creation. There were others and I didn't quite pick this one (a friend's mom who is joining us picked it) but it sounded good and, well, who can argue with the neat idea of the text book - Getting Into Character: Seven Secrets A Novelist Can Learn From Actors.
