Dear Yuletide Santa
Hello and thank you in advance for whatever you end up writing for me! I know I'm going to be delighted.
The content on this journal has been very sparse lately but I have archives in which you can poke as well as an account on FF.net and AO3 - Tanzy Morrow and Angie13, respectively.
Do:
* Have fun. I don't want this to be a chore.
* I adore a sense of humor and I'm a glutton for puns. Feel free to unleash your inner Spider Robinson if you must.
* I do like a well-written bit of heated prose so don't shy away from hot and heavy. I would rather not a complete Plot What Plot but no one said the plot has to be deep. It could be "help me research this case, oh, my panties fell off." I'm not picky. It can also range from sweet to rough, BDSM to blushing missionary.
* I am a total tramp when it comes to a well-written bit of character development. I drool over interactions and have been known to overlook plot weaknesses when given yummy character interaction and brilliant dialogue. Seriously, I <3 slice of life stories to a totally unhealthy degree.
Don't:
* Please no main character death unless it is canon-based. I don't mind angst or trauma or unhappy topics when done well because, hey, it's life but I really do want to keep my this free of wearing-black.
* If you go the pr0n route, do not make it non-con. No rape, incest, or pedophilia at all. Dub-con is a fine-line.
* Aim for stridently offensive humor. My sense of humor is very broad indeed but reading about people embarrassing themselves solely for the sake of embarrassing themselves... Makes me uncomfy. To frame this up for reference, I get up and leave the room during viewings of Something About Mary, Dumb And Dumber, etc. (But, strangely, I love me some Zoolander.)
* For the love of everything, do NOT vilify a character involved in the canon 'ship or even seen as a potential threat to justify a pairing. It is a serious pet peeve of mine when characters don't come together because they are suited or work for it but instead because another character is a mustache-twirling villain standing in the Way of True Love.
Dracula
Quincey Morris deserved better and this is a hill I will die on (metaphorically, that is). That said, Mina was badass and I hope Jonathan can handle her and doesn't screw things up.
Modesty Blaise
Simply put, I am going to keep requesting this until, some magical year, I get it. If this is what you're doing... I will bear your kittens/puppies/lizards. The only thing I ask that you avoid in this one is the end game. If you got this fandom, then you know just as well as I do how the end comes and I would much rather read about something before that. Something witty, maybe even full of caper-type goodness. The main point I would love is something showcasing the relationship between Modesty and Willie. It is such a rare, powerful bond and not something I've found anywhere else, really. It could be romantic but, then again, it could be strictly platonic. It could be beyond romance and into the spiritual. They know each other better than anyone else and they're both painfully pragmatic people. I find it constantly fascinating how they damn well know they are each other's Achilles' Heels but they have trained themselves to ignore it and work around it. Sure, they would crumble without each other but they have to function as if they wouldn't. They're proud and close and brilliant and they accept each other, warts and all. There is actually a Rumi poem that makes me think of them and, if you know Rumi and his friendship with Shams-e Tabrizi, then you probably know where I'm coming from. - The Mirror Between Us
The Great Mouse Detective
I much prefer this fandom to be gen and a case-fic would be THE BEST. This is such a shamefully underrated Disney movie.
Knives Out
I don't have any firm ideas on this other than leave the ending as it is. It can be before the movie, during the movie, after the movie. Whatever tickles your fancy, really. To be honest, I would even dig a glimpse into the daily life vein of Marta and Harlan hanging out and chilling.
The Princess and the Frog
The friendship between Charlotte and Tiana is one of the BEST things ever. Charlotte may be fluffy AF but she loves her friend and never doubts her. I squealed with absolute delight in the theater when the movie side-stepped any nonsense female jealousy and Lottie just whole-heartedly said she would break the curse so her BFF could be happy. So clearly I'm open to either a friendship fic for the ladies or Charlotte getting her own Happily Ever After.
Willow
I would love to see what comes after the happily ever after here. How does one raise the savior of a kingdom, after all? Random fact - the novelization of this movie is beyond excellent and, if you can get your hands on it, please do. You get more backstory and details and it is surprisingly well-written for a movie novelization.
