Nov. 27th, 2010 01:55 amSo the whole writing thing has eluded me for the bulk of today which really sucks because I had/have 3 days off and really planned on kicking through some serious word-age.
On the other hand, I took in the pumpkin pie for my "boys" at work and got a "It's a PRETTY pie" response complete with awed expressions. Note to self: Taking a little more time to arrange the pecans in a pleasing patter totally pays off in spades. I wonder if they took a picture like they said they would. I know I did. *such a dork* But it made me feel all happy and giggly so there we go. Even nicer to get a compliment and another thank you put up on my Facebook wall from one of them. So sweet.
Then I made Pixie the promised gumbo today, using my new gorgeous wonderful Paula Deen cast iron pot and to appropriate music. I must say that it turned out pretty damn well considering I frankenstein'd two recipes and embellished as I went. Chicken, sausage, catfish. Never cooked catfish before. That worked well. Washed it down with Abita. Can't explain why I then followed it with BBC's Lord Peter movies.
Yes, this has been a useless post. Whoops.
