Splinters of a Fractured Mind

Well, given the craziness and stress of work and how this month is shaping up and how just thinking about writing a novel put me into a panic attack... I decided to do something like last year but step it up a notch. I made a list of characters, gave it to Z, and had her put them in a random order for me. Then I hunted through 31 Days and found a list of prompts. Cue matching up the lists and getting hysterical with giggles.

The characters - Jackie, Charlie, Alex, Toffee, Vaiko, Kami, Zio, Leon, Bjorn, Tasha, Devo, Foxtail, and Jack.

I'm also counting RP posts in my word total because otherwise I would disappear for a month and no one wants that... Or at least I hope they don't want that.

I need to get up the progress bar but, for now, know that I did 2047 words on 11/1, 1967 on 11/2, and a pathetic 975 on 11/3.

Firstly, though, I had a trade-fic to do for River Twine. It was September/October but, luckily, both my partner and I were busy slacker omg-it's-November people. This is even more amusing to post now because I just got to hold Liz's tiny brand-new baby today. So sweet and cuddly and not at all alien-looking. I melted.

So tonight there was a meme war fought bravely by Kol, Sage, and myself. These were the battle lines...

1. Pick a character, pairing, or fandom you like. I'm using whichever char inspires me.
2. Turn on your music player PLAYLIST OF DOOM and put it on random/shuffle.
3. Write a drabble related to each song that plays. You only have the time frame of the song to finish the drabble; you start when the song starts, and stop when it's over. No lingering afterwards!
4. Do ten of these, then post them.

We each contributed a handful of songs to make a mega-playlist. The results were interesting.

So, through RTH, I discovered this amazing artist who was having an amazing sale for black and white line art. I couldn't resist and got a mite carried away getting treats for some people who have, each in their own way, spoiled me rotten and/or have/had birthdays or what have you. Don't worry. I got myself something, too.

D'awww. I'm well pleased. This almost makes up for the shit ton of snow and my flight being canceled which might force me into work tomorrow to make sure I have enough hours. Sigh.
