Boy, I am really really bad at this journaling thing.... /hangs head in shame
A lot has been going on! Sorta. My harp is currently at Musicmakers getting looked at to see if it can be repaired -- I despair of it being too broken this time, but that's probably just me being anxious. The harp repair guy was going to look at it this week, and if I haven't heard from him by next week I'll ping him and ask what's up. I really hope it's fixable, it's got such a legacy attached to it....
Meanwhile, I found and purchased a new-to-me harp on eBay! Yes, I know, eBay, but I've had really good luck with musical instruments in the past on eBay. You just have to know what to look for and what questions to ask. ^__^ ANYWAY, NEW HARP!

It was made by the amazing harp maker David Kortier in 2021, part of a line of sturdy travel harps called the Brigid. The box is willow, and the neck and forepillar are made from a single piece of heavy laminated walnut. It's got 26 brass strings, so 2 more strings than my other harp, and it came with a hardshell case! It's really lightweight too, maybe 9 pounds total. And it sounds really pretty, loud and bright like a wire-strung harp should sound. ^_^ I am VERY pleased with my purchase! This is the harp that will be coming with me to SCA events.
So. Onward!
